BREAKING NEWS

Turkey-Turkey-Turkey, Gobble-Gobble Giggle, I bet I can buy Turkey for a nickel

RON DAYNE SCORES!
Former New York Giant Ron Dayne scored his first touchdown on a 16 yard run today against the Dallas Cowboys. Dayne denies the rumor that Coach Mike Shanahan placed a 30lb turkey in the endzone as a Thanksgiving incentive.

Dayne is most famous for being college football's all time leading rusher who the Giants were so enamored with that they literally fell over themselves rushing up to the podium on draft day to select him in the first round with the 11th overall pick. In the stampede the entire Giants scouting & personnel departments ignored the NFL's current leading rusher Shaun Alexander who was taken 19th overall in the first round.

Career Totals:

  • Alexander - 1,579 rushes for 7,166 yards and 81TDs
  • Dayne - 598 rushes for 2,120 yards and 16TDs

I distinctly rememeber telling my father that the G-men made a mistake by not selecting Alexander. I was right. The Giants were wrong and the coaching staff subsquently lost their jobs because of it.

Nice job Ron....Now pass me some cranberry sauce.

Big Blue faces a tough Seahawk squad
D-CAF, D-CAF, D-CAF....
This week the NFC East leading New York Giants (7-3) travel to the first place NFC West Seattle Seahawks (7-3) in what will surely be a high scoring affair. This contest will match two of the highest scoring offenses in the NFL.

The high powered Giants offense leading by second year QB Eli Manning must flawlessly execute the game plan if they hope to energe victorious. Coach Tom Coughlin must equally utilize both the run and pass in order keep a Seattle defense off balance and provide Big Blue ample opportunities to score early & often.

Seattle will be relying MVP candidate Shaun Alexander to help position the Seahawks for home field advantage in the playoffs. Alexander, 28, is the NFL's leading rusher with 1,229 yards and 19TDs and a gaudy 5.3 yards per carry from scrimmage. The 6th year running back from Alabama is projected to finish the season with over 2,000 yards & 30TD's.
